I recently found out that many people don’t know about this part of Italian art history: Futurism.
Many graphic designers and artists created this social movement in the early 20th century. It was an Italian phenomenon, though there were parallel movements in Russia, England and elsewhere.
Filippo Tommaso Marinetti launched the movement in his Futurist Manifesto, and the most important artists were Umberto Boccioni, Carlo Carrà, Giacomo Balla,Gino Severini and the composer Luigi Russolo. I begin this blog presenting one the richest social movements of the 1900’s.
